Care Packages for Military Troops

Last semester we had a writing prompt on “How we can make the world a better place,” and we decided to support the military by sending them care packages full of things they might want or need. We eventually got around to this project about three months ago and set up a fundraiser with baked goods, jewelry, games, and prizes. We raised almost $2,000 to create fifteen care packages with items like oreos, socks, cards, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mints, gum, etc. We hope these care packages help the deployed soldiers, and make them a little happier. We can’t imagine how hard it may be to be away from home.
