Family Fun Day: Wacky Science Saturday

Family Fun Day: Wacky Science Saturday
Juliette Casas, Development Assistant

Post Oak families and friends all had a fun, wacky science-filled Saturday in the sun!

Sporting wacky robot shirts, children and parents alike joined in on parent-child relay races, potato sack races, hoola hoop contests, and robot dance-offs on the Post Oak backfield. Our school mascot, Beary the Bearkat, made a surprise appearance, labcoat and all, to join in the excitement.

NASA landed in our gym bringing us all the joy of robotic science and intergalactic star cycle bracelet making. Families dove into the dark mystery of the giant Discovery Dome to learn about all of the exciting innovative tasks NASA is undertaking to try and return to the moon, along with other immersive video experiences.

Middle School and High School Bearkats ran our Metamorpahsis salon, helping younger friends transform with colorful hairstyles and tattoos. Our dunk tank participants took the daring plunge creating big splashes.

Special shout-outs to everyone who made the day possible, starting with our event chairs, Angela Ebrahimi and Jelena Zhang! Room parents and mystery box decorators, thank you for taking on such an essential role. Volunteers for ticket sales and booths, we couldn’t have done it without you. Raffle ticket purchasers, you keep this a fun, free event! Thank you, all! It’s through our collaborative efforts that this annual event continues to be one of the most anticipated and enjoyed days of the year!
