The High School boys' flag football team won almost all of their games regionally, qualifying them to advance to a state championship game. The athletes, coaches, and supporters traveled to Georgetown High School on Saturday, November 16, to play once again in a state final, this time against the Wimberley Warriors (an Austin team).

It was an early start; we all met at the High School after 4 a.m. We arrived at the field in Georgetown at 7:50 a.m., which allowed the coaches to give the boys a proper warm-up, to mentally prepare them, and have a good practice before the game at 9 a.m. The weather was perfect—the sun was shining, and the temperature was most favorable!

The boys took the lead from the start; they played a fantastic game, and their focus from the beginning was exemplary. There were numerous highlights of the game, including interceptions made and touchdowns generated from these plays. When playing offense, the boys stuck to their routes, and there were outstanding plays, confident, accurate throws, and successful runs. The team worked so hard throughout the season, especially on their fitness, skill development, and importantly running their learned routes; this was clear in the way they played.

Our Bearkats were victorious! The score was 38-24 at the end of the game.

A massive congratulations to the whole team and a special mention to Coach McBride and Coach Collins for their constant support and dedication to the team.
