January College Admissions Update from Louis Dorsey

What a year it has been! We have and continue to weather many storms. Our students, teachers, and parents are resilient and committed to making the best of these challenging times. I am incredibly proud of the Class of 2021’s work. Although their senior year and college application season has not gone according to plan, they have made the most of it, and it is paying off tremendously. 

The Class of 2021 is having the most remarkable college application season in Post Oak's history. Five students have been admitted into their top choice school via Early Decision. Early Decision is a binding, single choice, and competitive early application process for selective colleges and universities.

We had nine students apply Early Decision! 

Of those, five were admitted to the following:

• Bucknell University
• University of Denver
• Oberlin College
• Pitzer College
• Syracuse University

The other four students were deferred to the regular decision pool at the following:

• Brown University
• Columbia University
• Rice University 
• Yale University
