The Post Oak School is pleased to announce that Liam O. ’21 is a National Merit Semifinalist.

On September 9, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 65th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,600 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $31 million that will be offered next spring. To be considered for a Merit Scholarship® award, Semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist level of the competition.

Liam has been at Post Oak for 15 years, starting in the Young Children’s Community. He left us for his first two years of high school to try a different learning environment. However, he eventually realized that Post Oak was the best fit for him. Since returning to Post Oak, Liam has been a great addition to our High School community, serving on the student council and as a student ambassador. He is also a member of the National Honor Society and the film club.

Outside of school, Liam is very politically active, serving on the Mayor’s Youth Council for the City of Houston, and has volunteered on multiple political campaigns. He is also a skilled musician, playing the piano for years. He aspires to attend college on the east coast next fall.

We are so proud of Liam and hoping that he reaches his goal of becoming a National Merit Finalist.
