Students Raise $1,400 for MD Anderson
Madeline D. ’30, Upper Elementary Student

A lot of people arond the world come to MD Anderson Cancer Center to get treatement. So 11 students, Lilia, Julia, Adam, Elliot, Sami, Ronin, Weston, Olivia, Jeremiah, Madeleine C., and Madeline D., came together and started planning out a fundraiser. We had to learn how to cooperate and work together. It was an amazing experience. We had to learn how to price and handle money.

We chose MD Anderson Cancer Center because we wanted to support this organization with our fundraiser. With one day we were able to make $1,400.36 US dollars. Even though the 5th graders were managing the bake sale, the rest of Ms. De Leon-Badillo’s class brought baked goods too. MD Anderson Cancer Center is the nation's top cancer treatment center. Physicians at MD Anderson are world leaders in lung cancer treatment. MD Anderson was among the first to use Proton and Chemotherapy.
