Before beginning an application, we encourage you to participate in our admission events. Below are the steps to apply for admission to The Post Oak School.
Step 1: Submit the online application form and $100 fee
Our priority admissions deadline for the 2023–2024 school year has passed, and we are currently reviewing our first round of applicants. However, we still encourage interested families to apply. Please reach out to the Admissions Office for more information.
Step 2: Submit the required admission documents
Step 3: Schedule an applicant visit
All families applying for admission to the Young Children’s Community and Primary program whose child will be under 3 years of age by February 2023 will be participate in an interview with the Admissions Committee. During this interview, members of the committee will ask questions to get to know your child and your family. Parent interviews may be held online or in-person, and we ask that all parents are present.
All Primary applicants who will be at least three years old by February 2023 will be invited to participate in Primary Admissions Day on February 16, 2023. Any Primary applicants under the age of three are not required to participate in Primary Admissions Day.
All applicants Elementary through High School will be invited to shadow a current student for a portion of the school day. During the visit, the student will be asked to participate in class activities and complete academic work.
High School applicants will also participate in a brief interview with the admissions committee. During this interview, members of the admissions committee will ask questions to get to know the student and learn more about their interests.
Visits after the Priority Deadline (January 2023)
Parent interviews and student visits for families who apply after the deadline will be scheduled after the first round of admissions decisions are made in March.
Step 4: Admission decision
Decisions for admission to The Post Oak School are based upon the parent interview, virtual student visit, teacher recommendation form(s), and student’s academic records, if applicable. The first round of admission decisions for the 2023–2024 school year will be sent by email on March 10, 2023.
