After 18 years, Christina Kopanidis Cantu, development director, has decided to move on to new adventures. Christina has done a tremendous amount for the school in her time here. She has been the engine on a train that has brought in millions of dollars in donations and gifts, to grow and build Post Oak over the years. More importantly, she has been the face of the school for parents and families, volunteers, POPA, events, and campaigns. Her work was all about forging deep connections between everyone in the school, resulting in a network that we call the Post Oak community. Christina will be missed and at the same time, we wish her well in the next chapter.
Additionally, we are excited to share with you that after a comprehensive search Post Oak has hired its inaugural Assistant Head of School. This summer we welcome Kevin McLean to our community. We were surprised and thrilled to have Kevin apply for the position as he had leadership experience in two Montessori schools that serve toddlers through high school and include the IB Diploma program. Kevin has served in a myriad of administrative capacities including Academic Dean of Upper School (American School of Paris), Head of Middle and Upper School (Montessori School of Raleigh), High School Assistant Principal (Hayah International Academy in Cairo) and most recently as the Academic Director and then Head of School at Virgin Islands Montessori and Peter Gruber International Academy.
