Post Oak has acquired a new property connecting the MDC South Campus to Banks St.! This land will be used to help us reach the next level in our goal of creating an ideal environment for younger and older adolescents to thrive in as envisioned in our Montessori approach to education. The new development will allow us to expand the number of students we serve, and they will have more opportunities to engage in purposeful work that directly impacts and connects them to their local community. The effect of this long-term plan will be to enhance the student experience in each year of the adolescent program.
In the short term, middle school students are using the space to extend their current gardening activities to include chickens and potentially other livestock, while high school students are expanding their physical fitness opportunities by creating a space for weight training.
