Chroma Shift

Chroma Shift
Gala art from the High School

High School

Chroma Shift elevates digital art to a place of tranquility by transforming into endless iterations of color and pattern. The high school artists, each experienced in programming, were inspired by a popular video game in which color itself is an element of survival. The group created two 64x64 LED matrix squares that are programmed to display a circle expanding and contracting in a loop while continuously changing color.

The background, expanding circle, and contracting circle each have 256 possible color combinations, and combined number of possible combinations for one cycle is roughly 16 million (256 to the power of 3)! Times two panels! Extraordinary.
