Parents Association

Post Oak parents volunteering

At Post Oak, the parent community is one of the school’s greatest strengths. As a parent, you are automatically part of the Post Oak Parents Association (POPA), where families come together to support their students, teachers, and one another.

Volunteering with POPA isn’t just helpful—it’s joyful. Whether you’re organizing an event, lending a hand in the classroom, or simply showing up with a smile, you make a difference. You’ll meet fellow parents, grow friendships, and nurture the warm, spirited community that makes Post Oak such a special place.

Volunteer Possibilities

A snapshot of volunteer opportunities for parents:

  • Sign up to be part of the Done-in-a-Day team, which works on a variety of small projects throughout the year
  • Lend a hand to staff and students for field trips, special events, plays, and other class projects
  • Help with parent education, including planning programs, volunteering, and participating at events
  • Support activities in the library, art room, or school office
  • Assist with philanthropic projects
  • Participate in beautification projects around the school
  • Introduce elements of your cultural heritage to your child's class (contact your teacher to discuss ideas)
  • Serve as a room parent to provide direct support to your classroom teacher
  • Advocate for the school to raise funds through the Post Oak Fund, special events, and beyond

Whether you have one hour per week, month, or year, there are so many ways to be involved! Sign up using our form in the parent portal, or for more information, contact the POPA chairs, room parents (listed in the Family Handbook), or teacher.
