As summer days are quickly winding down, we are sending this handy checklist to help you get ready for the first day of school!
1) Dive into the Family Handbook
This is essential for new and returning families, especially those transitioning to a new level or moving over to the Museum District Campus. The Family Handbook is built into the Parent Portal and can be found in the top menu in gray by clicking “Parents” (desktop) or in the hamburger menu under “Parent Portal” (mobile).
2) Update contact info in My BackPack
My BackPack™ (MBP) is a secure and easy-to-use web portal, integrated with our school’s primary database, Senior Systems. You can search the student/parent directory, register for auxiliary programs, and view statements. Learn more about getting started with MBP.
3) Complete all forms in Magnus
Each student’s health information is organized in a system called Magnus. In preparation for the school year ahead, Post Oak’s health clinic asks all families to review their student's health records and the Student Health policy. You can find the link to Magnus on the Parent Portal landing page and in My BackPack. Read more about Magnus here.
4) Get involved!
Our parent community is active and has something for everyone. Sign up to help with events and fundraising (did somebody say Gala!?), volunteer around the school, or join the host and welcome committees. Get involved by baking a favorite breakfast dish to welcome teachers back on Monday, Aug. 9. Sign up here for the Faculty Welcome Back Brunch!
Mark your calendars for our Community Coffee on August 27 at 8:45 in the Bissonnet Campus Gym, as well as the POPA Welcome Dinner on September 14—invitations will be mailed in August.
5) Show your school spirit
Get a piece of Bearkat spirit wear.
