AP/AR Specialist

FLSA Classification: Exempt
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Essential Functions

  • Prepares and posts monthly student statements.
  • Enters cash receipts.
  • Prepares cash deposits and takes to the bank/remote deposit.
  • Processes credit card deposits made through PayPal.
  • Files check stubs and bank receipts.
  • Researches and processes charge backs, returns, and bad checks.
  • Maintains and processes monthly ACH pulls.
  • Reviews and verifies miscellaneous requests for payment.
  • Prepares AP checks according to school policies and payment procedures.
  • Processes and reviews purchase orders and vendor invoices ensuring proper account coding and approvals.
  • Administers petty cash funds and reimbursements according to school policies.
  • Answers all vendor inquiries.
  • Maintains approved driver records and database.
  • Assists faculty and staff with travel arrangements.
  • Maintains employee time off records.
  • Assists with related special projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required, non-profit experience preferred.
  • Two to five years AP/AR experience.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding and to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to ascertain which people may need immediate assistance and to act accordingly.
  • Must demonstrate competency with basic word processing, spreadsheet, data base, and internet functions.
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly.
  • Must be very detail oriented and complete work with extreme accuracy.
  • Ability to use basic office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all constituents in a school environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate ethical behavior.

Associate Admission Director, Museum District Campus

Position: Full-time, exempt, with benefits
Reports to: Admission Director

Overview

The associate admission director is responsible for Middle School and High School admissions, communications, and outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate new inquiries/leads for enrollment, maintain constant, close communication with all interested families throughout the entire admission process.
  • Cultivate relationships and coordinate visitation to/for feeder schools.
  • Conduct tours for prospective families, staff open houses, and be present for other school-wide events, both on and off campus. There is approximately one evening event per month and one weekend event during the school year.
  • Organize systematic and efficient collection and maintenance of student forms and files, both paper and electronic using the school’s student information systems.
  • Maintain confidential communication with candidates, parents, and school staff.
  • Track and report relevant statistics of all aspects of the admission and re-enrollment process for Middle and High School students.
  • Schedule student applicant visits and interviews at the Middle and High School. In collaboration with the faculty and division director, support student transition into the program.
  • Work with college counselor to schedule student speakers for open houses and other school-wide events, and cultivate students for the ambassador program at the Middle and High School.
  • Develop alumni relations program.
  • Collaborate with school marketing team on all aspects of the Middle and High School admissions with the goal of maintaining a capacity enrollment of mission appropriate students.
  • Front office reception and administration as needed. Serve as a liaison for all parents of Middle and High School students.
  • Post appropriate information on the school’s social media sites.
  • Keep track of marketing materials for the Museum District Campus for open houses, tours, and visitors.
  • Support Middle and High School directors as needed.

Technology Integration Coordinator

Reports to: Technology Director
Start date: July 1, 2017

Overview

The technology integration coordinator is responsible facilitating the effective integration of technology into the curriculum. Provide technical instruction to faculty members in support of our laptop program, multi-media, computer hardware and software, social networking, school web-portals and associated peripheral devices. Advise technology director on educational technology trends, progress, and initiatives. Provide training on emerging educational technologies.

Essential Functions

  • Guide faculty to integrate technology into their curriculum
  • Train faculty and staff to use both software and hardware in addition to other technologies
  • Maintain online faculty training support and develop training materials
  • Create and document key processes, techniques, and procedures related to the instructional technology program
  • Assist faculty in evaluating and purchasing software to be used in the curriculum
  • Monitor the use of instructional technology to ensure that resources and activities enhance academic content and the school’s mission
  • Effectively communicate technology ideas and best practices to all faculty and staff
  • Providing technology support for faculty and students
  • Other tasks as assigned by the technology director

Qualifications

  • Strong background in both PC and Macintosh computers, hardware, and software, and other technologies (digital cameras, scanners, interactive boards, etc.)
  • Background in classroom teaching is a must; Montessori trained desired
  • Ability to work with a wide range of people, from beginners to experienced technology users and operate within multiple environments and operating systems
  • Experience using technology to improve teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of Montessori and IB principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter and independent worker, reliable and energetic
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology or related field

Physical requirements and work environment

  • Frequently lift up to 20 lbs. of computer equipment
  • Possibly crawl under or around furniture to install computer equipment

High School Economics Guide (Fall 2017)

FLSA Classification: Exempt, academic-year position
Reports To: High School Director
Hours: Part-time between 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Summary

The Economics Guide is a part-time position (approximately 12 hours per week though could be more depending on the candidate) responsible for curriculum development and instruction for grades 11–12. This role involves the mentoring, guidance, and assessment of high school students on a college preparatory approach in all aspects of economics. Topics include: microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, and the economics of developing states. Emphasis is on seminar discussion and primary sources. This position also includes cultivating, building, and maintaining partnership connections in related organizations in the Houston Museum District and nearby surrounding areas to augment and support student work and to deepen engagement.

Qualifications

The well-grounded candidate will have experience teaching high school students in the subject or related fields. Part-time Substitute Position
